Suspension

This section deals with common 634 suspension details.

Shocks

The shocks keep the bike from bouncing you around when the tires encounter a rut in the road (not in my neighbourhood you say) so it is important to keep them in good shape.

I have encountered two types of rear shocks on my bikes both are interchangabe. On my 78 634 they have a fixed rate but on my 80 634 they have adjustable settings, I'm not sure about other years or models.

They are both 90 mm on the rear and 150 mm on the front. Both can be rebuilt by following a few simple steps.I will e-mail these to you if need be. Both of the shock and forks use fork oil available at most bike shops.

Tires

The tires on any motorcycle should be inspected regularly you can never keep to close of an eye on them they can be the difference between a great ride and your last ride.

Both of my bikes are shod with identical tires. They have 3.25x18" tires on the front and 3.50x18 tires on the rear.Chose a brand that you trust don't go cheap on tires.
