This section covers fuel ratios and the like. The fuel and oil in the 634 are in a perfect world mixed in the carb and the ratio is controled by the Oilmaster pump but being that the world behind the Iron Curtain was far from perfect most riders of these bikes pre-mix their fuel.

Now don't just pull the hose off of the bike and add the pre-mix, as just because you don't trust the pump doesn't mean let it run dry.

1.Prime the pump and make sure that it is full of two stroke oil.

2.Using a piece of the line you removed cut it to a sutable length and attach one end to the output side and one end to the input side. this will keep it operating smoothly as your throttle cable still turns on the shaft of the pump.

Ratios:

The common rule of thumb and backed up by the owners manual is 30 parts of fuel to 1 part of 2 stroke oil thus 30:1.

The manual also gives a second ratio for proper break in of 25:1.

Premix only what you need in a fuel can as this helps to keep the fuel from separating.

P.S. There are peole who use thinner mixtures ( lower ratio of oil to fuel) I believe that a mixture of 40:1 should be adequate if you use a HIGH QUALITY 2-stroke oil or synthetic 2-stroke oil.

Using synthetic oil helps with emissions and keeps the smoke to a minimum.
