This section discuses the electrical system this is not for the faint of heart but I will include a link to a map of the electrical system of a '78 634 it sould not be to different from the other years. The 634 does not have a very complex electrical system. It is a 6v system that is fairly rudimentary in its lay out but in this section that is about all you need to know to do basic maintanance.

Battery. The bike uses a 6v battery. The battery that is called for is 6v 14amp battery. I have had trouble finding an exact replacement as far as external dementions go but if you have a British bike shop in your area they should be able to help you out(there are no Jawa dealers in Canada but my local Brit friends are always eager to help).

Lamps This bike uses a variety of lights.They are of course all 6v I will give you the wattages that are required to replace the lamp with the correct size. When replacing lamps on this bike especially in areas where they are uncommon(yes there are such places)try to bring along the lamp because if nothing more you have an interesting conversation peace remember if there is no identical lamp available go for one that uses less wattage, extra current draw could overheat those old wires.
