Hello, I'm Rodney, I'm 61 and I have owned lots of
bikes.
When I was 18,I had a 1958 black Jawa 250 and I loved it.
Then I had some Jap bikes, then a 1943 Indian 500 then
another Jawa 250 Sport, that was fun. Then a few more Jap bikes
then into the English stuff and was secretary of the British
Singles MCC for a while.
I still have an old British single,a 1934 OK Supreme 500sv
JAP engined unrestored rarity.
I was looking through one of my old bike books recently, the 1982
Encyclopaedia of Motorcycling and my wife says "Looking for
another bike" I wasn't but it sowed the seed and days
later I looked up motorcycles on e-bay and there it was,
a 1995 Jawa 350 Blue Style complete with Oilmaster, full
factory Sport fairing, rear rack and only 960km. I contacted the
seller, he said it didn't go but it looked like new. I said to my
wife "You know when you asked if I was looking for another
bike the other day, well I found one on e-bay" She asked
what it was and when I told her she said to "Get
it because I'll get my old lover back!" So I bid for
it, no one else did, I won it and brought it home to the shed.
They obviously never learned how to start a Jawa and said it was very
very hard to start. The Jawa secret was, No ign, fuel on,
choke on, 2 kicks, ign on 1 kick and away you go. Guess what,
that is exactly what happened 37 years after I last rode a JAWA.
We have been married 35 years and she thinks I'm a young pup again!!
Love the Jawa.Love the wife.
God bless
Rodney
